Instructions to Burn

In order to burn we request that you call in on the Admin lines first and we will let you know if the County Fire Marshal has a “Burn Ban” in effect in which case we’ll let you know if it is ok to burn for that day. Then we ask for your name, address and Phone number and give you instructions prior to burning so that we can let your district fire dept know.

Employment Oppurtunities

We hold 12 employment positions other than the director and the two supervisors. Our dedicated dispatchers start out at $9.00 per hour and after they become a certified Telecommunications Officer their salary increases to $12.00 per hour.

The Torrance County Central Dispatch new hires will be required to go through 30 days classroom training, taught by our qualified instructors. After which they will then do on the job training in which they will always work along side other fully certified 911 call-takers/dispatchers for 6 to 11 months and then will be required to attend a 3 week NM State Academy in Santa Fe where they will acquire their certification.

During the period of on the job training the new hire will be required to obtain several mandatory certifications such as;
