Adult Mental Health First Aid Class

Date: Oct 24, 2021 08:00:00 to 17:00
Details:

The Torrance County DWI Prevention Program will host an Adult Mental Health First Aid Class on Sunday, October 24, 2021, from 8 am - 5 pm at ButterCrust Pizza in Moriarty.

The class has a cost value of $175 per person, but is much more valuable in the fact that you learn how to help one another through mental health crises.

MHFAiders are trained to listen, reassure, and respond, even in a crisis - and can potentially avert a crisis from happening. They can do this by recognizing warning signs, and they have the skills and confidence to approach and support someone experiencing mental ill-health.

Just like traditional first aid classes teach us how to deal with physical issues, Mental Health First Aid will help the trained first aider know how to provide immediate help for mental issues.

The best part is that you can obtain this lifesaving information and training for FREE, thanks to grant funding through the Torrance County DWI Prevention Program.

If interested, please email tmaster@tcnm.us.

The goal is to have nine new Mental Health First Aiders trained in this class.

Will you be one of them?
